The Mandalorian made Bo-Katan and the Darksaber dirty

Published

on

There is a version The Mandalorian season 3 where the titular Mandalorian is not Din Djarin but Bo-Katan Kryze. Deposed warrior princess Katee Sackhoff navigates the season’s most colorful arc, rising from one of many exiled Mandalorians to leader of a reborn Mandalorian, leading her once-divided people in a united campaign to rebuild their homeworld. the problem is The Mandalorian continued to undermine her at every turn – making her a leader, of course, but extremely boring.

When we first reunited with Bo-Katan in The Renegade Season 3 Premiere The Mandalorian, Bo-Katan is in a quandary. She took up residence in an abandoned castle, where Din Djarin learns that her team of (secular) Mandalorian followers abandoned her to work as bounty hunters after they learned that she had not defeated Moff Gideon in combat, and that Dean wielded the Darksaber . .

This adds insult to injury, as previously Bo-Katan was notorious for surrendering to Moff Gideon after the Night of a Thousand Tears when the Empire moved to destroy Mandalore and Gideon forced her to give up the Darksaber, offering mercy in return. (He sings.) It only gets worse given the nature of the character. clone wars a story where she and her fellow Mandalorian Pre Vizsla were fully exploited by Darth Maul, who used them to temporarily take over the throne of Mandalore, and the Darksaber.

That pesky blade continues to haunt Bo-Katan. After she challenges her former colleague Ax Wovz for leadership of her old clan and wins, he undermines her by saying that she can’t truly be a leader without the Darksaber, which she refuses to take from Dean. So, Dean awards it to her on a technicality, as she saved Dean from the monster that defeated him in the second episode of the season.

It’s a disappointing solution to a huge ideological conflict, mostly down to who understands better. monopoly rules. Doubly so when, for almost no reason at all, Armsmaster decides that her cult’s strict creed allows him to partner with the Heretic Mandalorians to reclaim Mandalore, and that Bo-Katan has “traversed both worlds” after dipping into the Living Waters. save Dean and leave her helmet for a few days.

All in all, it’s such a light-hearted way of dealing with a character who has such a deep history running through several Star Wars episodes. What’s even worse is The Mandalorian also does not satisfy the main conflict of Bo-Katan on this to show how Moff Gideon defeats her in every fight, destroys the Darksaber (which oddly doesn’t matter much afterwards?), and only falls after Paz Vizsla crashes into him with a giant spaceship.

The MandalorianThe Season 3 finale ends on a triumphant note as all of the Mandalorians unite under Bo-Katan, but it all feels like an empty victory. three seasons later The Mandalorianthe writers have constantly emphasized the various beliefs, prophecies, and beliefs of the Mandalorians, and when Bo-Katan takes his place as the fulfillment of all these things, it is only barely according to these rules. It sucks! The journey of Bo-Katan on paper is a real heroic epic, worthy of The Mandalorianflowery language about adding his name to “The Song”. This is a triumph over a long tragedy, a victory for the people, embodied in one of the most legendary citizens. Her story deserves its own show, not an underdeveloped plot in another guy’s journey.

VGCartz Methodology: Equipment estimates are based on a sample of retailers and trends in selected countries, which are then extrapolated to represent a wider region. This usually allows us to get numbers that end up being within 10% of the actual totals.

This data is regularly compared with official shipping data published by console manufacturers and data obtained by regional trackers with a larger market coverage than us. We then update our own estimates to bring them in line with those numbers. This can result in frequent changes over a short period of time, but we think it’s important to prioritize accuracy over consistency.

Please note that our estimates are based on through sales data (units sold to consumers). In almost all cases, the numbers published by console manufacturers are based on shipment data (sale), when a device leaves the factory and enters the supply chain for delivery, it is considered a sale. This is why there is always a difference between company numbers (sales) and VGChartz estimates (through sales), even after adjustments have been made. The only exception is when the console has been discontinued and the remaining stock has finally sold out – at which point the numbers will match.

Legacy Of Kain fans are convinced that the next game in the series will soon be secretly tested

Published

Crystal Dynamics is gearing up to secretly test one of its upcoming projects in May, and some fans are speculating that Tomb Raider developer will invite select players to try out the new Legacy of Kain game. Crystal Dynamics confirmed PCGamesN that a closed playtest will take place next month, but the studio did not mention which game would be tried out by invitation only.

“I can confirm that the invitation is genuine and comes from us,” a spokesperson for Crystal Dynamics told PCGamesN, “but I can’t give any information about what they will be testing.”

What is known is that players who completed the recent Legacy of Kain survey report received an email from Crystal Dynamics for play tests. “Crystal Dynamics will play test the new game from May 3 to May 12,” the invitation reads. “Playtests will be remote, so you can participate from home as long as you have a PC or Mac, a webcam, a microphone, and the Microsoft Teams app installed.”

More than 100,000 people completed the Legacy of Kain poll last October, according to the studio, indicating that fans have heard their desire to see the franchise return “loud and clear”. “We wanted to get the community’s input on what players are looking for if we return to the land of Nosgoth and our iconic Legacy of Kain intellectual property,” Crystal Dynamics and Eidos CEO Phil Rogers said during a call to parent company Embracer Group (via VGK).

The last real game in the series, Defiance, was released 20 years ago in 2003 and the series has been dormant since then as Crystal Dynamics worked on other projects. The developer now has a full plan in place as it co-develops the Perfect Dark reboot with Microsoft’s The Initiative and is working on a new Tomb Raider game to be published by Amazon. His previous game, Marvel’s Avengers, got its last update in March.
